Privacy Policy

Football Playbook+ ("we", "us", or "our") provides a mobile application that helps coaches and players design, organise, and share American football plays (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights and choices available to you.

1. What this Privacy Policy Covers

This policy applies to information we collect when you use the App, communicate with us, sign up for an account, make in-app purchases or subscriptions, or otherwise interact with our services. It does not apply to information collected by third-party websites or services you may access through the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you create an account we collect identifying information such as your email address and display name. You may also provide a profile photo.
  • Team & Playbook Content: Playbooks, plays, formations, routes, player names and positions, notes, and any images or media you upload to your playbooks.
  • Invites: If you invite teammates or coaches we will collect the email address you provide for the invite so we can deliver the invitation.
  • Support & Communications: Information you include in support requests, feedback, or other communications with us.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device & Usage Data: Device model, operating system and version, app version, unique device identifiers (when available), mobile network information, and IP address.
  • Analytics & Performance: Crash reports, performance metrics, feature usage and event data used to improve the App.
  • Log & Diagnostics: Logs that help diagnose issues and improve reliability.

2.3 Payment & Subscription Data

If you subscribe to premium features we use a third-party subscription platform (for example, RevenueCat) and/or the App Store / Google Play billing systems. We may receive transaction records and receipt metadata, and we store a record of your subscription status. We do not store your full payment card details — payment is processed by the app store or payment provider.

2.4 Optional Data

You can optionally allow additional data collection (for example contact imports, or uploading roster CSVs). We will ask for explicit consent before importing contacts or other personal data from your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for purposes including:

  • To provide, operate and maintain the App and its features (create/play/edit/share plays and playbooks).
  • To authenticate and manage your account, including account recovery and password resets.
  • To process subscription payments and manage entitlements (through third-party providers).
  • To synchronise your playbooks across devices and provide cloud backup.
  • To send you important notices, security alerts, and support responses.
  • To improve the App through analytics, diagnostics, and usage trends.
  • To enable optional features such as team invites, sharing, or in-app collaboration.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We will not sell your personal information. We may share or disclose information as follows:

  • Service Providers: We use third-party providers (for example Supabase for backend/auth, RevenueCat for subscriptions, analytics and crash-reporting providers) who process data on our behalf. These providers are contractually limited to only process data as needed to provide their services.
  • Sharing & Export: If you share a play or playbook (export to PDF/image or share via link/QR/social), the content you choose to share will be visible to recipients and may be stored on third-party services depending on the method you use.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and ourselves.
  • Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction (you will be notified where required by law).

5. Third-Party Services & Links

The App may link to or integrate with third-party services (such as app stores, sign-in providers like Apple Sign In or Google Sign-In, analytics providers, cloud storage, or social networks). These third parties have their own privacy policies and practices. We encourage you to review them before using those services.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and playbook data for as long as your account exists or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account we will delete your personal data and playbook content within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days), unless we are required to retain data for legal or legitimate business purposes (for example fraud prevention, backup restoration, or compliance obligations).

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You may also be able to opt-out of certain processing such as analytics tracking or marketing emails.

  • Account Deletion: You may delete your account from within the App (Account > Delete Account) or by contacting us at the email address below. Deleting your account will remove your playbooks and personal data as described above.
  • Access & Portability: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (export of your playbooks and profile data).
  • Marketing Opt-Out: You can opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting support.
  • Analytics Opt-Out: Within settings you can disable non-essential analytics/telemetry. Note that disabling analytics may limit our ability to diagnose issues.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete the information promptly.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect your personal information. For example, we store sensitive data on secure third-party servers (e.g., Supabase) and use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for data in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure — while we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Transfers

The App and our service providers may process and store data in countries other than your residence. If you are located outside of the United States (or the country where our servers are located), your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions. We will take steps required by law to ensure adequate protection for such transfers.

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA & CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request disclosure of the categories of personal information we collect and to request deletion. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy rights.

12. European Data Protection (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data and to object to certain processing. Where required, we will respond to requests in accordance with applicable law. If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact us.

13. Payments & Refunds

Subscription billing and payment processing are handled by the App Store or Google Play (and, where applicable, RevenueCat). We store subscription status and receipt metadata necessary to manage entitlements, but we do not store full payment card information. Refunds are handled by the App Store or Google Play according to their policies.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will provide notice through the App or by email where appropriate. The "Effective date" at the top will be updated to indicate when changes are in effect.
